How to Take Action Against Emotional Blackmail
How to act in the face of emotional blackmail by loved ones?
If you're suffering from emotional blackmail, you'll feel like you're doing things you don't want to do. I mean, you're being manipulated.
A manipulator is usually an insecure person full of fears, although it may seem the opposite at first glance.
He/She has a low tolerance for frustration, which leads him to go into anger in case of contradicting it or when things are not done the way they want.
They tend to be used mainly by threats, but they can also be undue victims and combine both facets.
They seek to create in us a sense of guilt so that we can accede to their demands.
They abuse our desire to be content and our sense of duty.
On many occasions, throughout our life cycle, we will have different social relationships in which we can be victims of emotional blackmail. We will pay special attention to the one which occurs with relatives and loved ones, highlighting above all emotional blackmail in relationships.
“Love does not claim possessions, but gives freedom” Rabindranath Tagore.
