Certain work conditions can increase levels of anxiety and stress. The funny thing is that so-called workaholics feel discomfort and irritability when they are not working.

The workaholic is an Anglicism translated by a workaholic, laboradicto, workadicto, egomaniac, or egomaniacs. Multiple ways to refer to the same type of person: the one that their environment defines as a workaholic.

Workaholics have their work as the center of their life and downplay everything else, be it a family, social or personal matter.

Thus, their inability to disconnect gradually puts their health at risk. According to Marisa Bosque, a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in the workplace, the situation in which they find themselves causes them to gradually lose their emotional stability, even becoming addicted to control and power to be successful.

The most common symptoms that a workaholic presents can be grouped into three types, depending on the dimension they affect. However, it should be noted that there is currently no medical definition for this condition.
