Social norms are a set of traditional rules that facilitate harmony and good coexistence among people. They are usually common to several people or territories. Some are universally known; others are restricted to a delimited space, such as a region, country, or civilization.

These rules vary over time and depend on the context. That is, what seems to us now an acceptable and desirable social norm was not or did not even exist. It is also the opposite, and others will have disappeared.

It should be noted that they are very important and also play their role in social control, establishing themselves within the implicit rules. Colloquially they tend to be coupled with the concept of having a “good education,” They define respectful and educated people who serve as an example to the rest of society.
